Editorial policy
Honest Civic Briefing aims to make civic information clearer without making it sound more certain than it is. We value careful wording, transparent limits and corrections that readers can understand.
Accuracy and context
We check factual claims against appropriate available material and use original records when they are relevant and accessible. We distinguish description from interpretation, explain the scope of an example and avoid treating one local process as a rule for every place. If a claim cannot be established from the material at hand, we say so.
Independence and corrections
Editorial decisions and conclusions remain our own. Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page; we review the concern and correct substantive mistakes with clear wording. Where a change affects the meaning of an article, we make the correction visible in the article.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid, sponsored or partner material is identified clearly where it appears and is kept distinct from independent editorial work. Partnerships do not buy favourable coverage. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when they are, they are labelled, and they are not presented as documentary evidence.
